Oja Yoga believes in the concept that movement is medicine... not only for the body but the mind and soul too. Known by the ancient yogi's for years and backed by modern day science now. These classes like to cruise in the slow lane, slowing down and softening through the breath, synchronising the breath with movement. More like a moving meditation and internal massage and a sweet spot to melt into the mat. Comprising a balanced blend of gentle hatha, vin-yin, slow flow, somatic movement (asana), breath-work (pranayama/ kriyas), guided meditation (Dhyāna) with a touch of yoqi and mindful mantra. All levels are welcome and supported here! Mats and props are provided. You can register for one off classes as you please which are $20 cash/concession or $25 card/ full. If you are a regular/plan to be you can get a ten class pass for $180 cash, meaning you receive one free class. *Use within 3 months. Sessions are held in the tranquil studio. Its a safe, private, nurturing space that you will be and feel completely supported in by your experienced advanced yoga practitioner. NEW CLASS BY DONATION : 

This is the 'Upward Spiral' Class and catch up. This is a by donation, inclusive, community class to support those who are actively seeking or already cultivating a lifestyle that grows healthy habits. This is another humble, yet empowering avenue to support you along the way.

You may be sober curious or are in the maintenance stage of recovery finding ways to make sobriety more sustainable. You may be wanting to shift out of another kind of limiting behaviour that has been holding you back, like binge eating, binge watching series or toxic 'situationships' or negative self speak...

 

Whatever your poison is (or was), this is a safe space to shake it all off, exhale it all out, move through it and connect with your true self as well as a collective of like minded people. The idea is to co-create an onward and upward spiral through a yogi and mental health lens. A bit of an alternative to an AA group, however not limited or exclusive to associating with being an alcoholic (or being anonymous). You are not alone.

The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, it is connection.

If you have been feeling isolated (or bored) in your quest for a healthier or happier life, this is exactly why this group has been formed. We are a JOMO group celebrating the 'Joy Of Missing Out' - together! As opposed to FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). We come together to inspire, encourage, empower and support ourselves and each-other.  After our themed yoga (following a yama or niyama of the sutras each session) and purposed breath-work and meditation; we have a guided (and uplifting) closing circle where you can share as much or as little as you like, with the option to stick around for tea and chats afterwards.

All of the themed workshops (choose from one that suits you below) consist of  a blissful blend of asana (movement), pranayama (breath-work), mantra (sound vibration/ healing), dyhana (meditation) and yoga nidra (deep nervous system reset with sankalpa /solid goal setting, chakra activation and detoxifying purification).  

Then there is the other component of these workshops that set them apart from your usual yoga experience and make them extra special, whilst value adding to your life. You can expect yourself to feel fully engaged in learning eye opening and game changing yoga theory and inspiring yogic philosophy delivered to you in a way made applicable to you. Ancient wisdom gifts that keep on giving meets modern day life science that you can apply to enrich the quality of your day to day.  

 

These workshops are much more than 'just yoga' and give you life changing take away tools, beyond being on the mat, that you can add to your executive functioning, self development and self care 'tool' kits.

 

They are engaging and curious containers that have been carefully curated for an elevating and empowering experience and are delivered with big bhakti love and are jam packed with gold. They can run deep however you walk away feeling light and yoga lit. A perfect way to celebrate your special occasion.

I wish this content was taught in school and everyone could learn it! You know how we say there is no life manual! Well perhaps Patanjali did write one… Wait to you deep dive into this! Basically it is pretty much every yoga teacher’s favourite part of their Yoga Teacher Training (YTT)… However, just the heads up... there could be big belly laughs... there could be tears... as we unravel and sit within our real self and true nature accessing our 'higher' being. These teachings are the traditional preparation to becoming a yogi and initiating process of the 8 limb path. Abundant with self inquiry and self development through the lens of ancient yoga sutra wisdom for every yogi. You don’t have to be a yogi already to do this. It is for everyone! Id love it to reach as many people as humanly possible, you will understand why upon attending. Here we explore taming the monkey mind, the 'manamaya kosha' (layer) and lean into the yogi science of the three brains being the head, heart and gut. We are also calling upon our own in-built healing modalities and our bodies natural intelligence. This can last you your life-time as the gift that keeps on giving. Whilst we do cover correct postures and alignment and how each pose has a purpose behind it with its own set of benefits, this course is nothing to do with how 'flexi or sexy' you are in yoga and has everything to do with how you feel. It is a self development program empowering you in prioritising self-care. It is designed with love to lead us out of any stagnation or suffering and dis-ease and pave the path towards optimising our health and tracking towards a more sattvic state of homeostasis/ equilibrium.
