Hello
I am blessed to be trained in the lineage of Patanjali, the father of yoga and the author of the yoga sutras. Known as Ashtanga Yoga. "Ashta" means eight and "Anga" means limbs in sanskrit, so it translates to the 'eight limb' path.
This form of traditional yoga is beyond just a sequence of excersises or movement that we've come to recognise it in the modern/ western world. It is an all encompassing classical yoga that is centralised around ancient philosophy, lifestyle codes of conduct and involves practical applications of Ayurveda (which means the 'science of life') the sister to yoga.
Put simply, the eight limbs of yoga include the yamas (restrainsts- what not to do- how we can show up in the world) and niyamas (observances-what to do- how we can show up in ourselves), asana (postures), pranayama (breath-work) and dharana (meditation) then advanced deeper versions of meditation.
I am dedicated to marrying this with integrative mind-body-breath science and being a self care advocate drawing from this classical yogi context.

What we practice on the mat extends out into how we relate and interact with ourselves and our environments/ the world around us.
We perceive the world in correlation to how our autonomic nervous system is. It makes sense that when we are feeling dis-regulated and our sympathetic nervous system is in over drive (flight, fight or freeze) we have the sensations of not coping or overwhelm/ underwhelm and are prone to feeling triggered/being reactive or shut down and sedentary...
In this space, we can down regulate through self soothing methods and activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) back to a place of homeostasis, equilibrium or balance.
This is the science and practice of hatha yoga.
Ha (sun) - Tha (moon). Left - Right hemispheres of the brain. Male - Female. Sympathetic - Parasympathetic NS. Yin - Yang. In harmony with each-other.

Consistent yoga practice brings on quality connection to self and community, helping us live that happier and healthier life. Through concious breathing techniques we can cleanse our systems and it helps us remove stuck blockages and barriers, including stepping out of our own way when it comes to limiting negative beliefs. Bringing consciousness to the breath means inviting consciousness to the way we live. So we can live our best lives.

Prana (life-energy flow) and shakti (empowerment) and bhakti (love) are all key values which I study and seek and am honoured to share with you. These qualities can lead to moksha (liberation).
I am an advocate for self care (gentle and gradual progress rather than perfection, for true embodiment, therefor lasting benefits) connecting and leading from the heart space over the egoic and feeding and growing our Ojas (vitality) for quality of life! This is the spice of life!

“Yoga means union. It shows us how to unite all our life-forces by directing them inward. The goal is happiness and happiness lies within”.

My Story
Why am I here, doing this?
Kali was born half Sri-Lankan and half Australian. She was inspired from an early age about the ancient teachings of buddhism from her family origins.

With a colourful and creative professional 'jack of all trades' history in dance, art, graphic and web design, writing, music, business, travel, curry (munching & cheffing) and then all throughout the times, practicing yoga, she felt destined to study and qualify in Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, Asana, Pranayama, Meditation & Mantra and the basics of Ayurveda.
She has experienced loss of loved ones along the way & developed an earnest, deepened gratitude of breath & the power of conscious breathing & how it can help heal dis-ease through regulating the nervous system to homeostasis. Through lifes burdons she realised the blessings that come from them. One being how life is so precious and fleeting and the value of importance of how we spend our time and energy.
All things lead her to this calling of teaching yoga/ support work & being a solid advocate for self care, clarity and empowerment to live our best quality lives. She continues to deepen her practice and gain CPT points in the Yogi Industry on a regular basis and attends Ashram Immersions / travels when she can.

She has a keen interest in Yoga for Mental Health, Yoga Therapy and Ayurvedic lifestyle and Mind- Body Science and is consistently researching and self educating and doing advanced yogi courses... This was largely inspired by having a nuero-diverse kiddo, a parent with complex illness, a family member with parkinsons and her being a carer to several family members. Also due to experiencing the unfortunate early departure of one too many close friends suiciding.
It is her life's mission to inspire radical self love!
Currently, Kali is thoroughly enjoying studying a Bachelor in Psychological Science and Councelling. In 2025, Kali will head to the foothill of the Himalayas in Rishikesh to do an advanced yogi course. Even with all this further education, She is a firm believer that her students and clients are her best teachers. The descovery comes through connecting in face to face experiencing, sharing and exchanging. This is where the real 'penny drop' moments & shifts & sparks happen.

Kali has now had the honour and privilege of being a Yoga Practitioner and Facilitator as her vocation for over six years and seriously celebrates every moment in this, her ultimate dream career.

To serve others to serve their higher purpose, serves her's!
